The partnership between the Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. and the community generates a development cycle that benefits everyone.
Since the beginning of its activities, the Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. has always tried to approach the community. This integration begins with about 300 direct jobs and three thousand indirect jobs generated by the company, which benefit families of Foz do Iguassu and the region.
In addition to generating employment and income, the concessionaire promotes the regional economy with the purchase of products, equipment and materials to maintain their structure. When closing a deal, the Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. give priority to hundreds of suppliers and service providers in the city and region.
Another way to interact with the community is through the support of social organizations and promoting the Iguassu destination. There are also events carried out by the company, such as the Half Marathon, one of the largest and best known throughout the country for uniting sport and nature in the stunning scenery of the park and the waterfalls.
Community Passes — To benefit the residents of the 14 communities neighboring the Iguassu National Park, the Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. along with the Chico Mendes Institute (ICMBio), implemented the Community Pass, which reduces the entrance cost to the preservation area. This initiative aims to facilitate the visits of the community in which the concessionaire operates.
The cities granted with Community Pass are: Foz do Iguaçu, Santa Terezinha de Itaipu, São Miguel do Iguaçu, Medianeira, Serranópolis do Iguaçu, Matelândia, Ramilândia, Céu Azul, Vera Cruz do Oeste, Santa Tereza do Oeste, Lindoeste, Santa Lúcia, Capitão Leônidas Marques, and Capanema.
